They have the freedom to choose which institution to work in and options are not limited. Since healthcare is practically needed everywhere, nurses should be able to keep up with the demand as well. Nursing is a flexible career and a nurse should be able to find the right institution to work in.

Majority of nurses choose to work in a hospital setting. 60% of nurses work in hospitals but there are other venues that nurses can work in. it will really depend on the nurse’s specialty and what type of work he or she is interested in.

  • If you are a licensed practical nurse, you can work in day care centers, hospitals, nursing homes, home health care and rehabilitation centers. Licensed practical nurses are managed by registered nurses. Their responsibilities are higher than that of nursing aides but lower than that of RNs.
